Tips para el glamping en Guatavita

The glamping sites are scattered all around the Tominé dam. In this section you will find my advice to choose your best option and be ready for this experience.

The location: Guatavita is a town 1h30 from Bogota easily accessible by car or bus. However, the best glamping sites in Guatavita are in the mountains, in front of the town (20 – 25 minutes by car).

  • If you don’t have a private car, you will have to take a cab.
  • In that case, stay in a glamping where you don’t have to move during your stay (with activities, restaurant).

Tranquility: The glamping near the village and the lake is surrounded by houses, yacht clubs and the road. You will lose the experience of the wilderness and the sense of peace.

The view: The higher you are in the mountains, the better the view.

Climate: The town of Guatavita is at an altitude of 2600m. At night it will be cold and during the day it can be very hot. It rains regularly.

  • Think about bringing a sweater, an umbrella, and a jacket.
  • Some glamping places in Guatavita have a heater in the room. You will appreciate it very much.

Payment: Most glamping sites only accept cash payments.
