About Axel
- Axel's teams take care of everything from start to finish. From the moment you arrive in Leticia, you'll be welcomed by a staff member and looked after until your return to Leticia: no stress.
- The eco-lodge is staffed by local residents and international volunteers. The guides know the area like the back of their hand, and the volunteers handle the translation (English, sometimes French). You're in good hands.
- Everything is included: your stay at the ecolodge, all transport (except the plane to Leticia), activities and meals. There are no extra costs except for one or two very specific activities.
- Once at the ecolodge, you have your own guide, even alone. You choose the activities that interest you and when you want to do them.
- Once you're there, you can choose from a wide range of activities: excursions lasting one or more days with a night in a hammock in the jungle, night walks to observe animals, kayaking, paddle-boarding, dolphin watching, bird watching, traditional fishing, meetings with the neighboring community, crafts, sport fishing, discovering the Ceiba and much more.
- The ecolodge is located in the middle of the primary rainforest, 3-5 hours (depending on the season) by boat from Leticia, in the Brazilian Amazon. The only tourists you'll meet are those staying at the eco-lodge. Get ready to wake up in another world.
- Accommodation options to suit different budgets.
- The agency is committed to sustainable tourism. It is involved in a wide range of initiatives with neighboring communities involving inclusion in their tourism projects, access to education through the construction of schools, and the installation of sanitary facilities for water treatment, for example.
- Note: we have associated Axel's name with the ecolodge and the bookings, as he and his team look after the commercial side of things and organize the stays. However, the ecolodge is not in his name. He is one of the employees of the company that runs the eco-lodge.
How do we choose our partners ?
We select local travel agencies that meet our requirements (languages spoken, types of activities offered, reputation, organization, legally constituted company, etc.) and then test their services.
If we’re satisfied with the service, the agency will join our network of Colombian experts, and we will add it to our Tomplanmytrip website.
