What to expect
Nothing is imposed during your stay. Decide what you want to do, see, and experience according to your wishes and physical condition.
When you arrive in this little paradise, meet your guide. He or she will organize all the experiences that interest you. The guides know the area well, as they come from the neighboring community and have always lived in the jungle.
It's up to you to create unforgettable memories in such a special environment by meeting the neighboring community and discovering their customs, traditions, stories, and crafts.
If you're feeling adventurous, don't forget to spend a night in the jungle to hear all the sounds of the forest's inhabitants and feel the strength that emanates from it. Opt for a multi-day excursion if you have the soul of Mike Horn.
Animal watching is also a great pastime in the Amazon. Pink dolphins, spiders, toucans, and other colorful birds, monkeys, and even caimans may appear.
The flora is not to be outdone, and the Ceiba are there to remind you. As you can see, within 3 days there, you won't have time to get bored.
Must know
- Click on the "contact this expert" button and complete our online form (1min).
- Tomplanmytrip will receive your answers and create a WhatsApp group to put you in touch with the agency.
- Once the group has been created, you can chat freely with the agency to get all the answers you need.
- Then it's up to you to decide whether or not to book your experience.
- With this option, you sleep in a shared Maloca or Enramada dormitory and share the bathroom facilities with the other guests.
- For us, staying 5 days or more is perfect to fully enjoy all the activities.
- However, you can choose the length of your stay: 3 days minimum, and there is no maximum.
- The ecolodge is in the middle of the primary jungle, far from any large town.
- Everything is included. Once you've booked, you can put your wallet away and enjoy the activities, meals, drinks, and your personal guide.
- A local guide is assigned to each ecolodge booking group, even if you're traveling alone. They speak Spanish and Portuguese.
- Volunteers stay in the ecolodge. They work as free translators for groups who so wish. They speak English but rarely French. Remember to leave them a tip.
- Take the right flights. Arriving in Leticia before 2pm means you can be transferred to the ecolodge the same day. Similarly, a return flight after 12 noon means you can leave the ecolodge in the morning.
- There are reduced rates for minors. They vary according to age. Mention this to your expert when you talk to him.
- The ecolodge is in Brazil. You'll need to go through migration, so check whether you need a special visa to go to this country.
- The accommodation you chose: hammock in the Enramada or mattress in the Maloca.
- Absolutely all the logistics from the moment you arrive in Leticia until the moment you leave, whether you arrive by plane, boat or are already in a hotel in the city.
- More than 30 activities can be organized from the eco-lodge. Night in the jungle, multi-day expeditions, kayaking, paddle boarding, piranha fishing, wildlife watching (caimans, spiders, snakes, birds, pink dolphins, etc.), sharing with the neighboring community, and much more.
- Your personal guide. He'll organize the activities that interest you.
- Meals when you're at the eco-lodge.
- Drinks, whether water, fruit juice, or alcoholic (or non-alcoholic) beers/cocktails available on-site.
Prices:
- Prices are indicative and should be confirmed with your expert.
- Prices are subject to your choice of accommodation (hammock or mattress), the number of people on the boat, and exchange rate fluctuations.
- Overnight stays are at a fixed price for all travelers.
- The transport price varies: it decreases when the number of passengers increases. If you book alone, but there are 3 other passengers on the boat, you will pay the price for 4 people.
Choose your accommodation:
- The prices on the page correspond to "option A", the cheapest option: hammock + mosquito net in the Enramada Commune.
- You can add comfort to your experience by requesting "option B": a mattress + mosquito net on the ground in the Maloka Commune. This option has a supplement of around €35 per person per night.
- If you want even more comfort and private accommodation, cabins are available in "option C or D". See the other activity vignette for these two more upscale options.
Extra:
- The canopy tour is the only activity of the thirty or so on offer that requires an extra charge. It involves special equipment and guides.
Why choose this option :
- Unbeatable value for money and services for travelers.
- A quality and economical offer, even for solo travelers, especially those willing to sleep in a hammock.
- Unrivaled flexibility: choose the activities you want to do and when you want to do them. Your guide will be ready to organize them for you.
- The ecolodge is in a nature reserve, offering a well-preserved biodiversity-rich environment.
- The organization is simple, and you can adapt to the weather.
- At your own pace: organizing your days around the 30 activities available once you're here is up to you.
- A personal guide whether on your own, with your family, or with friends.
- Enormous time-saving: instead of spending hours organizing your trip to the Amazon, it only takes a few minutes.
- Enjoy sport fishing in some superb spots.
- Observe the famous Harpy eagle present in this area for birdwatching enthusiasts.
- Set off on treks lasting several days in the jungle with campsites in the forest in search of specific birds and special fishing spots, or experience the power of this environment.
- The neighboring Indigenous community is integrated into the eco-lodge project, with staff and guides from the village. Access to education and new health facilities are among their many commitments.
What may disappoint:
- The round trip by boat is long, even very long, depending on the season (3-5 hours), but that's part of the adventure and why we recommend 5 days.
- Basic facilities due to the isolated nature of the eco-lodge. However, they are perfectly functional.
- Be prepared to sleep in a dormitory and share bathroom facilities.
- There can be a lot of mosquitoes, just as everywhere in the Amazon, and the humidity can be hard to bear.
