Roadmap
4 Days
- Day 1 Arrival in Inírida and heading to Kenke to immerse yourself in indigenous culture.
- Day 2 Exploration of the Estrella Fluvial and heading towards the Cerros de Mavecure.
- Day 3 Ascent of Cerro Mavecure, then return to Inírida.
- Day 4 Different options depending on your departure flight time.
What to expect
Your adventure begins at the Inírida airport, where the guide will be waiting to take you to the hotel.
After dropping off your belongings, you'll head to the Kenke Natural and Cultural Park for a typical lunch and some delightful culinary discoveries.
In the afternoon, learn about ancient hunting and fishing techniques in a fun way, along with local plants, including the Inírida flower.
If conditions allow, you can swim in the stunning orange waters in the jungle and enjoy a beautiful sunset before returning to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Head to the Estrella Fluvial early in the morning. Several rivers converge in a stunning display of color and power.
If the season allows, you can swim in the red waters of the Atabapo River and relax on its white sand beaches.
After a delicious typical lunch in Amanaven, set sail towards the majestic Cerros de Mavecure, admiring birds and pink dolphins along the way.
Once you arrive at the Cerros, visit the El Remanso community at the foot of Cerro Pajarito.
At the end of the day, after setting up camp—either by the river or in one of the indigenous communities, depending on the season—enjoy the view of the jungle and the towering cerros.
In the evening, share a meal with the locals, who will show you how they process cassava, a staple of their diet.
At dawn, climb to the top of Cerro Mavecure.
The scents of the vegetation and the peacefulness of the area accompany you on your ascent, leading to a breathtaking panoramic view of the jungle and the neighboring Cerros, Cerro Mono, and Cerro Pajarito.
The place is truly magical, rejuvenating, and perfect for contemplation.
After this intense experience, you can relax on the white sand beaches of Caño San Joaquin (depending on the season) and swim in its red/orange-colored waters.
Have lunch in the El Remanso community, then begin the journey back. On the way, a stop is planned to observe freshwater dolphins (toninas) before heading toward Puerto Inírida.
Depending on your flight time and the season, you’ll have the chance to choose between three activities to end your trip: explore the mysterious Witch's Lagoon, swim in the waters of Caño Vitina, or visit the El Paujil market.
After the activity, you'll head to the airport for your return flight.

Prices:
- Prices are indicative and are to be confirmed with your expert.
- Rates depend on the selected options, the number of people, and exchange rate fluctuations.
Choose your package:
- The prices displayed on the page correspond to a 4-day/3-night group stay.
There is also a longer 5-day/4-night option, with an extra day at the Cerros. This allows you to enjoy the area more, including a jungle walk around Cerro Pajarito.
Why choose this option:
- The Cerros are awe-inspiring rock formations rising in the middle of the jungle.
- The atmosphere of this place is powerful and very wild.
- The guide accompanying you adds a genuine cultural dimension to your stay.
- It's an off-the-beaten-path destination, so there are few tourists.
- Conversations with your guide and some members of the indigenous communities about their culture, organization, and traditional dishes are incredibly enriching.
- Participating in this trip contributes to community-based and sustainable tourism, positively impacting this remote region.
What may disappoint:
- The boat trips are long, even though the waters are calm.
- There isn't much comfort for overnight stays at the Cerros de Mavecure, but it's well worth it.
- Some might feel there's not enough time in the Cerros area; in that case, opting for the 5-day/4-night plan is better.
