What to expect
Departure at 5.30 am from Riohacha towards Punta Gallinas. Visit the Salines of Manaure with a guide from the community, then head for Uribia for a logistical break (snacks and toilets).
Lunch at Bahía Honda, where you can go for a swim (depending on your arrival time). Set off again for the Taroa Dunes, which flow into the Caribbean Sea.
End the day at El Faro de Punta Gallinas for sunset, then return to your accommodation for dinner and a good night's sleep.
it's 6.00 am, and you're off to Nazareth, one of the most remote villages in La Guajira. On arrival, hike to the Aliwalu dunes in La Macuira National Park.
Discover this oasis and its cloud forest, a unique ecosystem in the middle of the desert.
After a traditional lunch, enjoy some free time to relax and experience the village atmosphere. You'll sleep on-site in a chinchorro (hammock).
Off on a scenic drive to Cabo de La Vela with a stop at the Jepirachi eolian farm.
After lunch, discover Playa Arcoiris and climb to the top of Pilón de Azúcar, a sacred site for the Wayuus. Swim at Playa Dorada and end the day with a stunning sunset at Playa Ojo de Agua or El Faro, depending on the time spent in the other sites.
After breakfast, head for the beautiful beaches of Mayapo. On arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch typical of La Guajira, followed by free time to relax, swim, or try out some watersports.
Mid-afternoon marks the end of your adventure and your return to Riohacha.
