What to expect

10h of lessons — Laguna de El Buey & Playa de Mayapo

You will have between 3 and 4 hours of practice daily, divided into a morning session and another in the afternoon.
During the first few hours (1h30), your private instructor will help you familiarize yourself with the equipment, safety, and kite handling.
Once you've mastered the basics, and during 1h30, you enter the water pulled by your kite (first with the instructor, then on your own using a walkie-talkie installed in your safety helmet) to understand more about how your equipment reacts to the wind.
You then repeat the exercise with the board in your hands and learn how to recover the board if you lose it (3 hours). The next hour is dedicated to learning self-rescue (1 hour).
Then, it will be time to get on your board and start sailing in both directions (3 hours).

The classes are private. You will have your own instructor for 10 hours.

Riders generally stay in Mayapo. It's also possible to sleep in Riohacha, but you'll need to factor in daily transport. In Mayapo there are options for all budgets, though availability is limited and value for money isn't always great.
Ask the agency — they have discount agreements with hotels in Mayapo for their clients.
The agency will be able to advise you on your choice of accommodation.

Extras:

During your daily practice, the agency can take care of ordering your lunch from one of the nearby restaurants in Mayapo, delivered straight to you.
