About Carlos and his family
- There are many animals in this reserve. In addition to being a renowned bird-watching site, you'll dine next to deer, capybaras, and caimans. Other more discreet animals will be seen during your safaris.
- The reserve is close to Yopal, just 1.5 hours away by transport. Carlos can arrange private transportation, which is ideal if you have limited time to enjoy the Llanos.
- Simple organization: The three hatos offer many on-site activities: 4x4 safaris, fishing, bird watching, horseback riding, and cultural experiences. Everything is organized easily and quickly.
- For everyone: Access to the reserve is easy, and the activities suit all ages and physical conditions. Everyone, from children to seniors, can have fun here!
- Transportation costs in Los Llanos are very high, so organizing a safari is often expensive. Since the Zambrano reserve is close to Yopal, you can enjoy a stay in the Llanos at a very reasonable price!
- Experienced guide: Carlos speaks English and is used to organizing trips for foreign travelers. Once on site, the local guides speak only Spanish, but Carlos can provide you with an English-speaking translator (at an additional cost).
- Private local guide: A local guide who knows the Llanero culture perfectly will accompany you throughout your stay. It's a private experience!
- Comfortable rooms: The three hatos of the Zambrano family have different atmospheres (design, cuisine, environment). However, they all have one thing in common: surprisingly comfortable rooms!
- The Zambrano family also protects ecosystems and biodiversity in the Llanos by consolidating their lands to form natural reserves. They also work to protect the Llanera culture and preserve local traditions. The responsible and controlled tourism economy contributes to the preservation of this environment in the face of oil and mining giants.
- Many other safari or experience options: We have highlighted the trip we tested, but you can contact this expert via this tour and ask about other options. Carlos offers two-, three-, or four-day plans to enjoy all the activities in the same hato. Depending on the chosen plan, you can fish, do several safaris (by jeep, on foot, or on horseback), take a canoe trip, participate in a cooking and craft workshop, and observe birds.
How do we choose our partners ?
We select local travel agencies that meet our requirements (languages spoken, types of activities offered, reputation, organization, legally constituted company, etc.) and then test their services.
If we’re satisfied with the service, the agency will join our network of Colombian experts, and we will add it to our Tomplanmytrip website.
When we test the services of a potential partner, we always pay at least the operational costs of the activities. We are, therefore, free to recommend them (or not) without any pressure. Our opinion is never biased.
