Stress-free: The eco-lodge organizes everything from A to Z starting from your arrival at the airport. Transport, accommodation, activities, meals—you just have to enjoy and take beautiful photos.
Comfortable: The Pacific coast is cut off from the modern world. Don’t expect 5-star hotels. This eco-lodge is the closest to high-end accommodation with quality service and facilities, spacious cabins, running water, and 24-hour electricity.
Standard cabins: Accommodating 1 to 5 people, these 32m² cabins all have a private bathroom, a terrace with a hammock, running water, and 24-hour electricity. They are located in the lower part of the property, near the entrance.
Premium cabins: Independent and located in the upper part of the eco-lodge (85 steps to climb), these 2 cabins are surrounded by lush vegetation. One has a sea view and the other a jungle view. The amenities are charming, with an outdoor shower in the form of a waterfall and a well-equipped terrace with chairs and hammocks.
Quality facilities: In addition to beautiful cabins with basic amenities, the eco-lodge offers lovely common areas. Enjoy a private nature reserve, a whale-watching lookout, a natural pool, a bonfire area in the evening, a pleasant dining room, and a bar area with a sea view, all amidst stone paths and large trees.
Delicious meals: The chefs work wonders in the kitchen, cooking with fresh fish and vegetables from their garden. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Animal observation: Depending on the time of year, you can spot whales (even from your hammock), numerous bird species, including some endemic ones, sea turtles, and brightly colored poison frogs, among others.
Activities: In addition to wildlife observation, you can hike, visit Utría Park, admire beautiful waterfalls, and go snorkeling. The eco-lodge operates with its own guides (or reliable local agencies) and motorboats.
Social commitment: The guides are locals who know the area well. The eco-lodge trains them to welcome travelers while respecting safety standards. They help them legally establish themselves as tour operators. Once ready, the eco-lodge sends clients to kick-start their business.
Eco-responsible: They have received numerous awards for their excellent ecotourism practices. For example, the eco-lodge participates in a sea turtle conservation/protection program. In case of a village power outage, they have a mini hydroelectric plant that takes over instead of a generator.
Innovative waste management: They recycle plastic generated by the eco-lodge or collected on the beach, giving it to a local entrepreneur who produces composite wood. They grind glass into a powder that can replace part of the cement used in making concrete.
Languages spoken: Only one or two people at the eco-lodge speak English, and the guides only speak Spanish. However, you can communicate in English with the reservation team (better in writing) to ask questions and organize your stay.
